Nepal government has announced Christmas, the greatest festival of Christians, a national holiday. Now, all Nepalese will enjoy holiday in the coming Christmas.  Since last many years, NCCN, as the representative body of Nepali Christians, has been raising voice for the public holiday in Christmas. It is very good news for us and all the Christians in Nepal that now the Government has recognized our voice.

On this happy moment, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Government of Nepal for declaring national holiday in Christmas and to all political parties, Human rights activist, National Human rights commission, religious leaders and media for their support and cooperation to us.

Government has  also  announced holidays in festivals like Lhosar of indigenous nationalities, Chhath of Madhesis, Eid Bakr-Eid of Muslims,  Maghi of Tharus and Ubhauli Udhyauli of Kirant community.

This step of Nepal government has ensured the religious rights of  different religious communities  to enjoy holiday in their festivals and it will be helpful to promote religious harmony in Nepal.
